During the third quarter of 2025, CREST continued supporting community health and disaster risk reduction initiatives while also preparing for the organisation’s upcoming fundraising dinner scheduled for October. This milestone event, held once every five years, was an important effort to strengthen support for CREST’s ongoing humanitarian and community resilience work.


1.    Community Health Support and Mosquito Net Distribution


In August, CREST supported efforts to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases among vulnerable communities. With climate change contributing to the increasing prevalence of diseases such as Dengue, Chikungunya, and malaria, preventive health measures remained an important aspect of community resilience and public health protection.


Ordinary mosquito nets donated by SSMC were distributed to NGOs serving Orang Asli communities and children’s homes locally. These preventive measures aimed to reduce exposure to mosquito vectors among at-risk populations.


CREST also continued promoting awareness on the effectiveness of mosquito net interventions in reducing disease transmission. Studies conducted in various countries have demonstrated that insecticide-treated bed nets significantly reduce malaria incidence, highlighting the importance of practical and accessible risk reduction measures within vulnerable communities.


Through partnerships and community-based initiatives, CREST remained committed to promoting health preparedness and supporting the well-being of underserved populations.
